My day at la pura!

The faster and more digital and technical our world becomes, the more I feel like I want to find myself again. I’m pretty good at ignoring my health problems with all the distractions and sensory overload in my everyday life. The double stress in my job and family challenge me and sometimes drive me to my limits. Until I found la pura. A women’s health centre of the highest calibre.

 

I don’t like travelling alone.

I’d feel lonely and wouldn’t be able to enjoy it. At least that’s what I always thought. Until I heard about the la pura women’s health centre. My curiosity was piqued, and I headed for the beautiful Kamptal valley. l.

 

I felt welcome on arrival

A friendly lady at the reception counter greeted me and organised to get my car parked right away. I got my room key along with a schedule of everything I had booked in advance. The room was pretty big, decorated in friendly colours and situated in a quiet, peaceful location.

 

On we go to the outdoor activity programme!

Nordic walking – an ideal way to soak up a little more sun and to calm down from every-day life. For a moment I wondered if it was okay, but then I remembered I didn’t have to ask anyone for permission. I could do whatever I pleased. I liked this weekend more and more.

 

Getting together for an afternoon snack

They said it was going to be particularly tasty, so there was no way I was going to miss it. And it’s a good thing I didn’t, because I really would have missed something special. There was something for everybody. Even vegan, lactose-free and gluten-free pastries were served.
In short, I really enjoyed the afternoon snack in such lovely company.

 

My special head treatment.

I had been suffering from migraines for many years, so this treatment with special massage techniques seemed like just the thing for me. During the treatment, I’m already noticing how my body is going into a relaxation mode. I was thinking what a wonderful weekend this was. Why did I put it off for so long? The masseuse recommended that I should rest on the warm lounger in the tepidarium afterwards. I didn’t need to be told twice.

 

In the wellness area

There was an indoor pool, comfortable loungers, a well-equipped sauna area, a refreshment corner, even magazines to read. I was in my element. The greatest luxury these days is to be able to consciously pause in our lives, to be able to enjoy the moment and concentrate on oneself. Even the fact that I was travelling alone didn’t bother me anymore. On the contrary. Usually I try to keep an eye out on all the members of the family, and at work I try to meet everyone’s expectations. At la pura, I was able to just let go and grant my body, mind and soul a restful pause.

 

Should I eat on my own or join the others?

Would I be able to enjoy a 4-course menu if I were sitting on my own? After all, eating always has a communal aspect to it. I thought about whether I should sit at the big communal table in the restaurant, where all the women who liked to engage in conversation while they were eating would gather, or whether I preferred to be on my own. I opted for an individual table and grabbed my book. It was very pleasant. At la pura, it’s considered normal if guests eat alone, and contrary to my expectations, I more than enjoyed it.

 

Programm

My own personal “me time” at la pura

In the evening, I dropped in my bed, fully satisfied, and went to sleep right away. I hadn’t enjoyed such a deep, restful sleep for a long time. When I woke up, I was so full of energy that I took a walk before breakfast, up to the castle that I could see from my window. From up there, I had a fantastic view of Gars am Kamp. I made use of my time in the fresh air to listen deep inside myself. To find out what was causing me the most stress. In which situations should I say no more often? Am I really happy?
After breakfast, I headed off to the mental coaching. The therapist showed me ways to include little relaxation journeys in my everyday life and gave me plenty of tips about how I could better maintain boundaries for myself. It felt good to talk about these things with a professional and to reveal things that I usually keep to myself. It was a wonderful journey back to myself. Finally, it was all just about me. I had time to achieve clarity on a few things and to restore my strength and energy. The environment inspired me, and the fact that there were only women felt extremely good.

I’m sure I will make time for my personal “me time” at la pura regularly!

Activity programme – free of charge for women!

Since exercise is a decisive factor for women’s health and well-being, la pura offers a diverse programme every day. Indoor and outdoor. It’s an ideal way to try out new things to find out what’s right for you. The presentations by our team of physicians also offer an opportunity to obtain recommendations for a healthier life by medical professionals who are trained in female-specific topics. The cooking classes by chef Markus Witzer will provide excellent inspiration for everyone who’d like to know more about healthy cooking. Classes conducted by la pura’s head pastry chef will show that even sweet food doesn’t need to be unhealthy. And anyone interested in classical music will find out more about the cello at la pura’s cello evenings.
